DRIFTED APART

They were said to be close and they earned the headline spot of the town's daily gossip

They'd steal out time just to talk; to play together

But slowly, they began drifting apart

The one said "I no longer yearn for your jokes"

And the other said "I no longer have your picture on the walls of my mind"

"I can't even remember the details of your face"

"I can't hear your heart beat"

"I no longer recognize the colour of your heart"

They went back and forth—our headline

The one blames the other and the other one returns the favour–the blame game

You've both begun acting as fools do

You've become sojourners in each other's heart

Just passing by and not truly belonging

You've drifted apart

So I move...
