BLACK FLOWERS

Of course Kola and Jide were bright young fellows.  Kola was the one with a better educational background and Jide, a more creative mind. These two were envied by most who knew and understood what they possessed. They always appeared smart and without blemish. They blossomed everywhere they went.

Like Sun flowers, they lighted up every angle of your life and like the roses, they filled the atmosphere with so much beauty and joy. To retain their beauty, all they had to do was to stay connected to their roots. Unfortunately, they were uprooted. Their place no longer in the hearts of men, but under the feet of men—trampled. Our bright flowers, nothing more than black flowers.
