AWAKE THE DAWN

I will awake the dawn
My eyes shall not be shut lest I be taken by surprise 
I will outsmart the dawn
He shall not find me on my bed
I will outrun the dawn
And he shall marvel at my speed
I will awake the dawn 
And he shall beg for his job or ask for a partnership deal  
I will awake the dawn
And his agent shall no more crow at my sleeping ears
I will surprise the dawn
And he shall marvel at my make-up 
I will awake the dawn
Then he will know that I am born of God even more.
