CAPELESS HEROES

You know this one's for you. You always smile at me and tell me it's okay when we know deep down it's not but I find a way to believe you anyway. You stand atop the tallest buildings so you can spot the evil from a mile away and protect us from it but we've never really taken the time to ask if you might be scared of heights. I see your designer eye bags underneath your eyes from sleepless nights when you watch, read, pray, fight, to make sure it's okay. We hope you're okay. You're not a bulletproof vest but you took a conscious lifelong oath to always take a hit for us if need be. We see you. We are praying for you everyday. Thank you for being a light. This one's for you who throw yourselves on the frontline of battle. To our Capeless Heroes.
