CAPELESS HEROES


You know this one's for you. You always smile at me and tell me it's okay when we know deep down it's not but I find a way to believe you anyway. You stand atop the tallest buildings so you can spot the evil from a mile away and protect us from it but we've never really taken the time to ask if you might be scared of heights. I see your designer eye bags underneath your eyes from sleepless nights when you watch, read, pray, fight, to make sure it's okay. We hope you're okay. You're not a bulletproof vest but you took a conscious lifelong oath to always take a hit for us if need be. We see you. We are praying for you everyday. Thank you for being a light. This one's for you who throw yourselves on the frontline of battle. To our Capeless Heroes.

Many are  the numbers. Standing tall are valiant men. The weapons their hands clinched to were hell scaring, wagging it high with a sense of worth and understanding. As Tife  walked home with a spring in his step sometimes skipping along the way, he kept smiling to himself. He couldn't believe the long awaited time had finally come. The scales covering their eyes were slowly falling off, they were beginning to see the truth.
